About the role
The Leasing Officer manages Council’s portfolio of leased/licensed properties, spanning community, retail, telecommunication and commercial tenancies. Expect to be problem solving, managing diverse stakeholders and the opportunity to showcase your working knowledge of occupancy agreements, property management and financial processes.
Skills and experience
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Local Government Act 2020, Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and the Retail Leases Act 2003 as they relate to the administration of property and leasing matters.
- Ability to solve problems through research, creativity, discussion, negotiation, teamwork and liaising with counterparts in other organisations.
- Possess a solid understanding of retail, commercial, community and telecommunication leasing.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate to achieve successful outcomes.
- Relevant and extensive experience in property management, including solid understanding of invoicing, outgoings, disclosure obligations, land tax and rates recoveries, budgeting.
- Degree or diploma in Property Management, Property, or related discipline, or substantial progress towards completing such qualification (desired).
