About the role
As a Project Officer Environment, you will support the delivery of funded conservation projects that protect and enhance Victoria's natural values within Wilsons Promontory National Park.
Working as part of Parks Victoria's Environment Team, you will assist in the delivery of on-ground conservation programs including pest plant and animal management, threatened species protection, ecological restoration, fire ecology, and environmental water and wetland management. You will work closely with Area Ranger Teams, contractors and partner organisations to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and in line with project objectives.
The role also supports project monitoring, reporting and evaluation, helping to capture outcomes and ensure compliance with funding requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical field-based work, working in remote locations and making a tangible contribution to Victoria's biodiversity and conservation outcomes.

The Wilsons Promontory Environment Team is passionate about protecting one of Victoria's most significant natural landscapes. We are a collaborative, supportive and dedicated team that works together to deliver high-quality conservation outcomes across the park.
Working alongside Rangers, Traditional Owners, community groups and partner agencies, we take pride in protecting biodiversity, managing invasive species and enhancing ecosystem resilience for future generations.
We're looking for someone with:

Experience delivering or supporting on-ground conservation programs, including pest plant and animal management, environmental works or natural resource management activities.

Relevant qualifications or experience in conservation land management, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, Traditional Owners, community groups and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work safely and collaboratively as part of a team in remote and challenging environments, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.

Well-developed organisational, problem-solving and record-keeping skills, with the ability to use initiative, meet project deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement.

A current Victorian Driver Licence.
