About the role
Sunshine Cabinetry is a close-knit Sunshine Coast workshop producing custom timber joinery for homeowners and builders. We're seeking a fully qualified Joiner who can take a job from design through to finished installation. This is a complete joinery trade role — measuring, drawing, machining, bench work and on-site install.
The joinery work you'll do
Our projects span the full range of timber joinery, including:
- Measure and create plans on Mozaik and CAD for approval.
- Fitted and built-in joinery — wall units, shelving, storage and custom built-ins
- Doors, door frames and window frames
- Stairs, balustrades and associated timber components
- Bench joinery and cabinetry elements (carcasses, fronts, benches and fitted fixtures as part of a joinery fit-out)
- Custom one-off timber fittings for renovation and builder projects
Day-to-day duties
- Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation methods
- Design and detail joinery in Mozaik (or comparable CAD / joinery design software), producing cut lists and machining-ready files
- Select and prepare timber, board and engineered wood materials, and set out layouts
- Cut, shape, joint and assemble timber components
- Assemble prepared timber into structures and fittings ready to install
- Verify trueness and finish, and install completed joinery on site
Essential — you must have
- A recognised trade qualification as a Joiner (Certificate III in Joinery or equivalent, including overseas qualifications assessed by Trades Recognition Australia)
- Demonstrated experience designing in Mozaik (or equivalent CAD/Sketchup).
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on joinery experience
- Confidence reading and producing technical drawings and cut lists
- Your own hand tools and a reliable vehicle
- Strong attention to detail and genuine pride in craftsmanship
Desirable
- CNC machining / nesting experience
- Experience across custom renovations and builder fit-outs
