The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich in Southeast Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role
The JBS Dinmore Plant is currently recruiting 2 qualified Maintenance Electricians to join their Maintenance team. The work involves urgent break down repairs, preventative maintenance and project/ improvement works in a FMCG.
This is a full-time position with annual salary more than $80,000 plus superannuation.
A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to applicable candidates. *Conditions apply.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Responding to break downs in a timely fashion to ensure maximum availability, reliability and capability of all plant assets.
· Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by completing effective and efficient preventative maintenance when production is not running on a variety of equipment
· Hold and maintain a current electrical licence and work only within licence authorisations.
· Maintain current switchboard rescue and CPR training.
· Ensure electrical installations, repairs, and equipment modifications are carried out safely and comply with relevant standards.
· Verify electrical safety by conducting required testing, inspections, and documentation.
· Maintain and calibrate electrical testing equipment in accordance with requirements.
· Complete electrical risk assessments, test sheets, and maintain required records.
· Apply lock‑out/tag‑out procedures during all electrical work and ensure switchboards are secured after use.
· Ensure live electrical work is avoided unless absolutely necessary and appropriately authorised.
· Complete maintenance repairs and breakdown response in a timely and safe manner.
· Conduct risk assessments (e.g., Take 5) prior to undertaking work and implement appropriate control measures.
· Perform maintenance tasks using correct tools, equipment, and trade techniques.
· Inspect equipment during repairs/rebuilds, identify deficiencies, and carry out corrective actions.
· Provide trade guidance and support to maintenance team members as required.
· Work independently or as part of a team under limited supervision.
· Support small maintenance projects and ensure tasks are completed to standard.
· Maintain familiarity with key plant automation systems (e.g., Allen Bradley and Honeywell PLC logic) for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
· Follow safe working practices in accordance with WHS legislation and company policies.
· Use required PPE at all times and ensure safety compliance when entering production or operational areas.
· Identify and report workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, and improvement opportunities.
· Maintain hygiene standards when working in or around product contact areas, including tool sanitation and contamination prevention.
· Ensure maintenance work does not compromise food safety, including communication with Production and FSQA teams where required.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, production leaders, and FSQA to coordinate work and minimise downtime.
· Liaise with Stores and Purchasing for parts, materials, and equipment requirements.
· Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and records to required standards.
· Report defects, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area throughout the shift and at task completion.
· Ensure tools, equipment, consumables, and materials are stored correctly and workspaces are free of debris.
· Follow site housekeeping standards and contribute to a clean and safe workshop environment.
· Perform any other duties consistent with skills and training as directed by supervisors or management.
About You
Hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology
Previous experience in FMCG advantageous but not required
Previous PLC experience or working knowledge of PLC, x-ray or robotics highly regarded
Competent fault-finding skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritise and manage day to day tasks
Ensuring that all electrical work meets company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills to identify and troubleshoot faults to rectify problems in a timely manner
