About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Claims Lead - Liability to join our Claims team in Brisbane.
This is a senior technical and client advocacy role where you will lead and support the management of complex claims, work closely with brokers and account management teams, and provide technical guidance across claims matters. The role supports both local and national claims teams and includes mentoring and developing team members.
You will play a key role in delivering outstanding client outcomes, particularly on complex or contentious claims. Working closely with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, brokers and internal stakeholders, you will progress claims, interpret policy coverage, negotiate outcomes and help deliver a market leading claims experience.
This role is ideal for a seasoned claims professional who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing outcomes and acting as a trusted adviser to clients and colleagues. You will also contribute to broader claims initiatives, support insurer performance discussions and help strengthen claims capability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
You will:

Lead the management and advocacy of complex claims matters across a corporate client portfolio

Provide specialist claims advice to clients, brokers and claims colleagues

Interpret policy wording and claim circumstances to maximise coverage outcomes for clients

Liaise with clients, insurers and service providers to progress claims and resolve issues efficiently

Support brokers by providing technical expertise during new business opportunities, renewals and client discussions

Mentor and coach claims colleagues, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development

Build strong relationships with branch leaders, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and key stakeholders

Contribute to claims working groups, insurer performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are a highly experienced insurance claims professional with strong technical capability and the confidence to influence outcomes across clients, brokers, insurers and internal stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Significant experience managing complex commercial or corporate claims

Strong technical claims management and advocacy capabilities, including preparing claims submissions

Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Proven ability to navigate and resolve complex or contentious matters

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels

Experience building effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups

Sound understanding of insurance products and markets, ideally including ISR

Insurance broking compliance knowledge, highly regarded
-
A coaching mindset and genuine passion for developing others
You will ideally hold ANZIIF qualifications or equivalent industry credentials, with advanced qualifications viewed favourably.
