About the role
The Clinical Nurse - Oncology Day Therapy Unit (ODTU) and Oncology Procedure Unit (OPU) provides expert clinical nursing care and leadership within Cancer Care Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care for individuals receiving treatment for oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant and haemophilia conditions within a specialised ambulatory care environment.
The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical assessment, care coordination and intervention for patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive therapies and specialised treatment procedures. The role also contributes to education, leadership, portfolio management and quality improvement initiatives while supporting nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective cancer care services.

Provide advanced clinical nursing care, assessment, planning and evaluation to support patients receiving specialised cancer and haematology treatments.
Demonstrate leadership in clinical decision-making and provide support, guidance and direction to nursing staff in complex clinical situations.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care across ambulatory cancer services.
Support education, learning and professional development initiatives for staff, patients and families while promoting an evidence-based practice environment.
Contribute to quality improvement, service development, research activities and portfolio responsibilities that enhance patient outcomes and service excellence.
