Lion Education Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based early childhood education and care provider. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality early childhood education programs that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and deliver developmentally appropriate learning programs in line with the approved learning framework and service philosophy.
- Create safe, engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments that support play-based learning and children’s development.
- Design and implement activities that promote children’s literacy, numeracy, language, motor, social and emotional skills.
- Support children’s language and communication development through stories, songs, group activities, role play and individual engagement.
- Observe, assess and document children’s learning, interests, development and progress to inform curriculum planning.
- Identify children’s individual learning needs, wellbeing or safety concerns and implement appropriate support strategies.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, learning goals and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with educators, room leaders and centre management to maintain high-quality educational practices.
- Promote children’s safety, health, wellbeing and development in accordance with service policies and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment and participate in professional development and continuous improvement.
- Supervise, mentor and support educators, assistants or student teachers where required.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, such as a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education Early Childhood, Master of Teaching Early Childhood, or other ACECQA-recognised equivalent qualification.
- At lease 1 year of relevant experience.
- Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated understanding of early childhood pedagogy, child development and play-based learning.
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate educational programs for children in the early years.
- Strong ability to observe, assess and document children’s learning and developmental progress.
- Knowledge of child safety, wellbeing, inclusion and regulatory requirements in an early childhood setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with children, families and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary early childhood education team.
- Strong organisational, documentation and classroom/room management skills.
- Previous experience in a long day care, preschool, kindergarten or early learning setting will be highly regarded.
- Multilingual language ability will be considered an advantage
