About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team in South Brisbane. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid payroll experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll
- Maintain employee records including new starters, changes, and terminations
- Calculate leave entitlements, overtime, and allowances
- Process superannuation, PAYG, and other deductions accurately
Advisory & Support
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
- Provide guidance to managers and internal stakeholders
- Interpret awards and employment agreements
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, ATO, and NES requirements
- Prepare and submit STP reporting
- Assist with year-end processes and audits
Team Contribution
- Collaborate with Finance and People & Culture teams
- Contribute to team initiatives and process improvements
Continuous Improvement
- Support system enhancements and automation
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes
About You Essential:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience using accounting systems (Pronto highly regarded)
Desirable:
- Experience in complex or multi-entity payroll environments
- Exposure to HRIS systems
- Knowledge of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Background in industrial, resources, or professional services sectors
