We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and wants to build real-world connected devices and cloud platforms.
About the Role
As part of our Software Engineering team, you will work alongside electronics and embedded firmware engineers to develop complete IoT solutions. Your work will span cloud backend development, mobile applications, web applications and communication between embedded devices and cloud services.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be involved in system architecture, implementation and deployment of production software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
- Design and implement scalable cloud backend services on AWS.
- Build modern web applications using React.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Design secure communication between IoT devices, mobile applications and cloud services.
- Develop application command protocols and device messaging systems for connected products.
- Build REST APIs and event-driven backend services.
- Collaborate with electronics and embedded firmware engineers to deliver integrated hardware/software solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing and CI/CD deployment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate (or equivalent AWS certification).
- 2 years of commercial experience developing React Native applications for Android and iOS.
- Strong experience developing cloud backend solutions using AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Strong frontend development experience using React.
- Experience developing IoT products involving embedded hardware, mobile applications and cloud services.
- Experience implementing communication protocols between devices, mobile applications and cloud platforms.
- Experience with AWS messaging and streaming services such as SQS and Kinesis.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Highly Desirable
- Experience with AWS IoT Core and MQTT.
- Experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda.
- Experience with BLE, Wi-Fi or cellular connected devices.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as medical devices or industrial automation.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
