The Safer Communities Case Officer plays a vital role in supporting a safe, respectful and inclusive university community. This position provides trauma ‑ informed , person ‑ centred support to students, staff, former students, former staff members, and visitors who are impacted by gender ‑ based violence, sexual harm, domestic and family violence, bullying and harassment, and issues relating to modern slavery.

Reporting to the Safer Communities Team Lead, you will:
liaise and collaborate with University colleagues and external providers, including health, mental health, statutory and community services
You are a supportive and capable professional with experience working with people affected by trauma and complex wellbeing or safety concerns. You bring sound judgement, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively in sensitive and complex situations. You will have:
strong understanding of gender ‑ based violence, sexual harm, domestic and family violence, and related issues
relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling, community services or a related field (or equivalent experience).

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
