Role Overview
The Marine Services Team Members reports directly to the Marine Services Team Leader and is responsible for a diverse range of activities delivering mooring operations to vessels in Thevenard.
The Marine Services Team is also responsible for a wide range of maintenance and other duties including working on Flinders Ports Pilot Launches, wharf and marine infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Mooring of Vessels;
Berth Preparation;
Wharf and Jetty Maintenance;
Pilot Transfer and Launch Maintenance (competency required); and
Operations Navigational Aid Maintenance.
About you
Experience working both independently with limited supervision, and within a multi skilled team environment;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Must be willing and able to work in diverse weather conditions and at varying times of the day and night including weekends and public holidays as required;
Experience carrying out minor maintenance activities and in the use of general plant and equipment;
Current Driver’s Licence;
Knowledge of WHS practices that apply to general labouring work; and
Must be able to obtain an MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card), and Police Clearance.
Full training will be provided, however any previous experience working in manual handling or general labouring would be looking favourably on. This role includes physical duties such as lifting up to 20–25kg and requires good upper body strength and cardiovascular endurance.
