The division of Surgery, Endoscopy & Anaesthesia Services is responsible for the provision of both elective and emergency surgical procedures. The Operating Suites and Day Procedure Units manage patients' admissions pre and post procedural/operative care; theatre or day procedure intervention and post procedural/operative care.

About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute hospital setting.
- Possess excellent Perioperative clinical skills relevant to the campuses you are applying for.
- A commitment to high quality, safe person-centred care.
- Must be available on a 7-day rotating roster (including weekend, afternoon and night shifts).
- A Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative or Peri-Anaesthetic nursing is highly desirable.

About the role:
Footscray Theatre is now part of the Peri-operative Services Precinct (PSP) and provides 24-hour emergency and diagnostic services, as well as an elective surgery program from Monday to Friday.
The PSP integrates Operating Suites, Interventional Radiology, Day Surgery and the Cardiac Cath Lab, with 12 theatres/procedure rooms plus Cardiology and Interventional suites.
Stage one recovery consists of 24 bays with integrated admissions and recovery for all patients treated in the precinct.
About you:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A minimum of three years’ full-time or equivalent peri-operative experience in minor and major surgery.
- Recent experience in an operating suite instrument/circulating or anaesthetic/PACU experience.
- Experience in orthopaedic, urology, faciomaxillary, ENT, vascular, neurosurgery and general & colorectal surgery is highly desired.
- Effective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegation
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated evidence of undertaking professional development activities to maintain and enhance.
Registered Nurse – Perioperative Pool Services – Anaesthetics/PACU/Scrub/Scout

Our Peri-Op Pool nurses work across all Western Health Operating Theatres – Sunshine, Joan Kirner, Footscray, Williamstown, Bacchus Marsh and Sunbury (Day Procedure only). By joining our Pool service, you will benefit from permanent working hours with the flexibility to work in multiple operating theatre settings.
