Mipac is seeking Senior Control Systems Engineer's to support the delivery of complex control systems projects across Australia and internationally.
With multiple major Greenfields projects recently awarded, this is an opportunity to be involved in projects from the ground up—shaping control system design and contributing across the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to commissioning.
This role suits experienced engineers who are confident in their technical capability, enjoy solving complex problems, and are ready to take ownership of meaningful project components while continuing to build their leadership capability.
You will work as part of a highly experienced engineering team, contributing to design, FATs and commissioning phases, with opportunities to be involved in site activities both domestically and internationally.
This is a hands-on role where you will remain actively involved in design, configuration and problem-solving, while taking ownership of delivery outcomes and supporting the development of other engineers.
This role also provides a clear pathway toward technical leadership, with increasing responsibility, client exposure and involvement in more complex delivery environments.
-
Contribute to the design, configuration and delivery of PLC, SCADA and DCS systems across greenfields and brownfield projects.
-
Take ownership of key project components, including design decisions, configuration approaches and delivery outcomes.
-
Play an active role in FATs, commissioning and site delivery, including time on site where required.
-
Work directly with clients, vendors and internal teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
-
Apply sound engineering judgement to resolve technical challenges in a structured and professional manner.
-
Build strong working relationships with clients through reliable, high-quality technical delivery.
-
Contribute to the development of junior engineers through practical guidance and knowledge sharing.
-
Ensure design, configuration, FAT and commissioning activities align with Mipac and client technical standards and delivery approaches.
You are an experienced Engineer who:
-
Has delivered industrial control systems across design, configuration and commissioning phases.
-
Brings strong hands-on experience across PLC and SCADA platforms (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Yokogawa or similar).
-
Has been involved in FATs, commissioning or site-based delivery activities.
-
Is comfortable working across multiple phases of projects and managing competing priorities.
-
Takes ownership of your work and applies a practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
-
Communicates clearly and works effectively with clients, vendors and internal teams.
-
Is interested in developing your leadership capability and supporting other engineers.
-
Holds Australian working rights and is able to travel as required.
-
Experience in mining, energy or heavy industrial environments
-
RPEQ, CPEng or willingness to pursue
At Mipac, you will work alongside experienced engineers across a range of complex projects and delivery environments. This provides the opportunity to deepen your technical capability, compare approaches, and learn from others delivering high-quality outcomes for clients operating critical industrial systems.
You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, supported by experienced peers, and given exposure across the full project lifecycle—without being limited to a single asset or isolated delivery environment.
