About the role
Reporting to the Manager Engineering Design & Technical Services, you will provide technical, administrative and business support across the Engineering Design & Technical Services Division.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused professional to join Council's Engineering Design & Technical Services Division. Based across Council's Civic Centre and Alan Turner Depot, this role offers the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of engineering and operational teams, supporting the delivery of infrastructure services across the organisation. You'll provide essential technical and administrative support across a variety of engineering functions, helping deliver projects, manage permits, maintain asset information and provide quality customer service while contributing to a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative and business support across the Engineering Design & Technical Services Division, including purchase orders, meeting minutes, equipment and uniform management, and monitoring key tasks and timeframes.
- Assist with the administration of road reserve permits, approvals and customer enquiries, including processing applications, maintaining registers, scheduling inspections and preparing customer correspondence.
- Support traffic and infrastructure project delivery through customer liaison, resident notifications, documentation management, Traffic Live updates and procurement assistance.
- Assist with the processing and management of engineering drawings, Work As Executed (WAE) plans and asset documentation to support Council's asset management systems.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide high-quality customer service and support continuous improvement across engineering business processes.

- Commencing salary of $2,905.46 gpf plus superannuation, with the opportunity to progress to $3,486.55 gpf through an increasing pay scale in line with skills and experience in the role.

What you will need to succeed
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or other qualifications relevant to the role.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical and/or administrative support within an engineering, infrastructure or similarly technical environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across multiple teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn or use business systems such as TechOne, P&R and DOCUMAP.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
