The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Traffic Management Coordinator to join our Health, Safety & Environment team.
In this specialist role, you will be responsible for developing, reviewing and approving Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) across ABN Group's construction operations. Working closely with Construction Managers, Site Managers, contractors and external authorities, you will help ensure all traffic management activities are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, review and approve Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for construction activities
- Coordinate Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), road occupancy requirements and permit applications
- Conduct traffic risk assessments and identify appropriate control measures
- Provide technical traffic management advice and support to operational teams
- Liaise with Main Roads WA, local governments, utility providers and other external stakeholders
- Manage and maintain an approved panel of traffic management contractors and providers
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with approved traffic management controls
- Investigate incidents, complaints and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Deliver traffic management awareness training and contribute to safety communications
- Monitor legislative and industry changes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business
About You
You are a safety-focused professional with technical traffic management knowledge and a passion for supporting safe construction operations.
We will also consider if you come from a logistics coordination, transport planning, workforce scheduling or operations coordination background and have experience managing multiple stakeholders, permits, compliance requirements and operational activities in a fast-paced environment
You will bring:
- Current Main Roads WA Advanced Worksite Traffic Management (AWTM) accreditation
- Demonstrated experience in traffic management design, planning, coordination or operational delivery
- Sound understanding of traffic management requirements within construction environments
- Strong knowledge of Western Australian traffic management and road authority requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to interpret legislation, standards and technical requirements
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing contractors and external service providers
- Current Western Australian Driver's Licence
- Current White Card
Desirable:
- Construction industry experience
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- Experience working with local government and road authority approval processes
