Position Summary
The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for the preparation, installation, and finishing of wall
and floor tiling systems across residential and commercial construction projects undertaken
by Venaso Pty Ltd. The role ensures high-quality workmanship, compliance with Australian
Standards, and timely completion of projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine plans, specifications, and drawings to determine layout and tiling requirements.
- Measure and mark surfaces to establish tile layouts.
- Prepare wall and floor surfaces by cleaning, levelling, waterproofing, and applying
adhesives.
- Cut and shape tiles using hand and power tools.
- Lay ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic, and other tile products.
- Apply grout and sealants and complete finishing works.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Repair and replace damaged tiles as required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to ensure project timelines are achieved.
Qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification, such as an AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in tiler or a related trade.
- Alternatively, at least three years of relevant hands-on industry experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
Skills & Requirements:
- Extensive experience in cutting, shaping, and laying ceramic, clay, slate, marble, and glass tiles on internal and external walls and floors.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including waterproofing, screeding, and applying adhesives.
- High attention to detail for aligning patterns, grouting, and jointing.
- Ability to accurately calculate material quantities from architectural plans.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $85,000.00 per year
