Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
$72,902 pa + industry and uniform allowances + 12% super (level 4) - effective 1 July
76 hour fortnight
Location: Dakabin
Work within our Waste Management Field Operations team and help keep our community safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone.
As a Waste Management Field Operator, you’ll carry out general labouring duties across a range of waste management activities in our parks and public areas. You’ll work safely, efficiently and with pride in maintaining the cleanliness of our shared spaces.
Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning and maintaining Council’s public amenities
Safely operating waste collection and amenities - cleaning light vehicles
Using chemicals and cleansing equipment in accordance with safety procedures
Completing basic administrative documentation related to daily tasks
Building positive working relationships and interacting cooperatively with the public and your team
Please note:
This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days
This role requires the participation in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.
About you
Ideally you’ll bring experience from a similar role, along with:
Confidence working in environments that may involve unpleasant waste-related tasks
Strong experience performing manual labour safely
Clear and effective communication skills
Ability to complete administrative tasks using relevant technology
Good time management and self‑motivation
A positive, team focused attitude in a customer service environment
Availability to be rostered across any 5 out of 7 days
Mandatory requirements:
Current Truck Licence (minimum MR - Medium Rigid)
Construction Induction Card
Ability to meet the role’s immunisation requirements for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus
