We have a specific role for a client in Coburg
About / Requirements:
Female NDIS participant (28) with ASD and complex support needs, living with family in Coburg, requires experienced female support worker to provide regular afternoon / evening assistance at home, all shifts will be 2:1 with another support worker.
She is non-verbal, requires visual supports, sensory regulation, restrictive practice compliance. Any experience with or complex home-based support, and managing challenging behaviours will be highly regarded.
This role would suit someone who is calm, patient, consistent, and confident supporting a person who requires close supervision, personal care assistance, communication support, and behaviour support strategies.
The successful worker will provide support in the home and, when appropriate, in the community. Duties may include:
- Supporting daily routines and transitions
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene routines
- Using calm, respectful communication
- Following an existing Behaviour Support Plan
- Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs
- Maintaining safety during home-based and community activities
- Working alongside family and the broader support team
- Completing basic shift notes and incident documentation where required
Applicants must have experience supporting people with:
- Autism, intellectual disability, or complex communication needs
- Behaviours of concern
- Personal care support
- High supervision or safety-related support needs
- Behaviour Support Plan implementation
