To keep our technology backbone running smoothly, we are seeking a proactive IT Support Specialist to provide first‑line technical assistance and maintain our secure, high‑availability IT environment.
Role Overview
The IT Support Specialist will be the primary point of contact for internal staff, handling hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring that our renewable‑energy operations run without interruption. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and senior leadership to troubleshoot problems, configure systems, and implement best‑practice security measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to tickets, phone calls, and emails, providing timely resolution of hardware (PCs, laptops, printers) and software issues (Windows, macOS, Office 365, ERP).
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and security patches on end‑user devices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the corporate LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi, and remote‑access solutions for field engineers and site offices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication in Azure AD/Active Directory; enforce MFA and password policies.
- Support collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Slack) and video‑conferencing hardware for virtual meetings and remote project coordination.
- Conduct routine asset inventory, hardware lifecycle planning, and disposal in compliance with e‑waste regulations.
- Assist with backup and disaster‑recovery procedures to safeguard critical project data and engineering documentation.
- Provide basic IT training and create user guides for new software rollouts or system upgrades.
- Monitor system performance, generate reports on ticket trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers for escalated issues, warranty claims, and procurement of IT equipment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
- 2–4 years of experience in a help‑desk or IT support role, preferably within an engineering, energy, or field‑service environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
- Experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and basic router/switch configuration.
- Proficiency in Active Directory/Azure AD, Office 365 administration, and endpoint security tools.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities; able to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tickets.
- Strong communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical staff.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified, ITIL Foundation) are a plus.
Pay: $45.75 – $85.38 per hour
