Due to Fredon’s increased work load and the nature of its business, an opportunity exists for a dynamic and enthusiastic Control Systems Engineer to join our team located in Underwood.
Reporting to the Digital Buildings Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of control and automation systems and associated documentation, ensuring effective, innovative, and high-quality engineering outcomes across project delivery and future tenders
Responsibilities include:
- Providing support to commercial activities including pricing, estimating, tender submissions aTnd scope reviews
- Design, develop, program and integrate control systems including: PLC/SCADA/EMS, communications networks and third-party systems
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including control philosophies, drawings, I/O schedules
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, Australian Standards and cybersecurity equipment
- Coordinate with vendors, third-party engineers and site teams
- Manage engineering deliverables to meet project schedules, budgets and quality requirements
The successful application will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline
- 2-5 years demonstrated experience in control system engineering, PLC programming, SCADA/EMS development and industrial automation
- Demonstrated experience in: Python, C, C++, C#, Java
- Previous experience with database management; MySQL, SQL Server
- Experience preparing engineering documentation and working across the full project lifecycle
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Exposure to industrial cybersecurity and advanced industrial protocols - advantageous
- Team Player
- Ability to work autonomously and manage engineering deliverables
