The Company
Atmos Renewables is a leading Australian renewable energy IPP with interests and ownership in over 2.4GW of wind, solar, and BESS assets across all the NEM and WEM states. Established in 2020 by Igneo Infrastructure Partners, a specialist global investment management company with over 25 years’ experience in infrastructure, Atmos develops and invests in renewable energy projects at all stages of their lifecycle and is a long-term owner and operator of clean generation and storage assets.
Atmos will be part of the solution to decarbonising Australia’s electricity network by building and operating a portfolio of renewable energy generation assets while being the partner of choice for communities, landowners, and off takers across Australia.
Atmos is managed by a growing, highly experienced team of renewable energy professionals, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. We are committed to investing in clean technology that offsets carbon emissions in the Australian electricity markets and in a way that supports Australia’s vibrant local communities and protects and enhances its biodiversity. Atmos is building a development pipeline of projects at various stages and expects to have projects in construction within two years.

Atmos has day-to-day management responsibility of the portfolio of over 1.5GW and oversight of our joint-venture projects. Atmos is building development pipeline of wind, solar and battery assets to add to our gigawatt operational portfolio.
The Role
An exciting opportunity to be part of the growing Operations Team responsible for the ongoing success of the operating portfolio of assets.
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the Technical Manager role is responsible for the delivery of operating portfolio optimisations and to provide support to the asset management function generally by providing expert technical and project management expertise.
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and/or have relevant technical experience in technical and/or project management of renewable energy assets. A robust understanding of the principles of managing Operation & Maintenance agreements for renewable energy assets – wind, solar or BESS. Relevant experience on other energy generation or operational infrastructure assets will also be considered. An understanding of the principles of asset management and details for how technical and commercial decisions impact asset lifecycle performance is desirable.
Strong communications skills are required for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
The role would suit a self-motivated individual who can support Atmos Renewables’ goals and ambitions.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with asset managers to provide elevated technical engineering support
- Responsible for the development and delivery of strategic and optimisation projects to deliver value uplifts for the portfolio
- Manage complex technical and commercial issues, including sound knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
- Demonstrate strong Health, Safety and Environment values, ensuring all contractors perform to the highest HSE standards and in accordance with all applicable legislation and regulations
- Provide expert knowledge in the tendering, negotiation and review of equipment warranties and service agreements as renewals fall due to align with strategic goals
- Provide SME advice and support Atmos’ commercial team in the procurement of new assets, including acting as operational representative as required
- Responsible for the successful integration of newly acquired assets into the operational portfolio
- Support the management of statutory and compliance management for technical matters on the operational plants, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Skills & Experience
- Recognised qualifications in engineering or other relevant equivalent experience
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in the renewable energy sector. Relevant experience gained in other sectors will be considered
- Superior understanding of WHS best practice in Australia and a passion for delivering projects safely
- Understanding of technical reliability concepts, root cause analysis, asset lifecycle planning
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Australian electricity regulations and requirements, including NER compliance
- Well-developed project management and change management skills
- Willingness to travel domestically (including to regional areas)
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical matters to various stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding
- Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of related industry standards and best practice frameworks
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
- Organised, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple work-streams on an ongoing basis
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Pay: From $175,000.00 per year
