Primary objective
The Service Designer consults with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement contemporary digital
solutions, including business process mapping of business operations.
Context statement
Digital Solutions work with client agencies to deliver innovative solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of
government services to provide and enhance customer experience for citizens and business transacting with government.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Engage with clients to analyse business requirements and identify opportunities to implement and enhance business
processes and systems to improve the quality and efficiency of government services.
2. Manage the design and development of contemporary digital tools and improvements to business processes to support
an enhanced customer experience.
3. Provide advice and investigate more complex business processes for system integration with business systems.
4. Collaborate with application developers and service providers to ensure solutions and enhancements meet business and
functional requirements.
5. Negotiate, communicate and manage change activities with users and key stakeholders.
6. Manage and deliver training and support to staff and stakeholders in the implementation of new digital solutions.
7. Undertake testing activities, including preparing and executing test plans and conducting User Acceptance Testing.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical and complex issues in plain
language, providing accurate information, advice and analysis to a variety of audiences.
2. Demonstrated experience or knowledge of public sector governance and legislation.
3. Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple work packages, tasks and conflicting deadlines.
4. Knowledge of business and systems analysis and requirements elicitation, including development of process models,
business requirements, documentation of specifications and development and delivery of training and support.
5. Demonstrated ability to think laterally identifying and applying innovative solutions and improved work practices.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to service, Innovation, Ethical
practice, Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of NT Government managed solutions and systems.
2. Certificate or tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Technology or a relevant field.
