Disability Support Worker –
We are looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker to support a male participant in his early 60s based in Wonthaggi.
This role is ideal for a mature support worker (40+ preferred) with extensive experience supporting participants with physical disabilities. The successful candidate must be reliable, physically capable, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
About the Participant:
The participant is a man in his early 60s living with a physical impairment. He requires consistent, hands-on support to assist with daily living while maintaining his independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care (including assistance with daily hygiene and mobility support)
- Community access (appointments, outings, shopping)
- Transport using your own large SUV (required for mobility and accessibility needs)
- Light domestic duties (cleaning, household upkeep)
- Meal preparation and support with daily routines
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience supporting people with physical disabilities
- Must live locally in or near Wonthaggi
- Own a large SUV suitable for participant transport
- Valid Driver’s Licence and fully insured vehicle
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Relevant qualifications in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, or similar
- Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks safely
- Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable approach
Desirable:
- Experience with manual handling, hoists, or mobility aids
- Understanding of person-centred care and NDIS frameworks
