About Yatu
Yatu Group Australia is the Australian arm of an international refinish coatings manufacturer, distributing the Perfecoat and Lightint ranges to the collision repair and automotive refinish trade. We are building our presence across Sydney and are looking for a skilled colour matcher to run our mixing room and support body shops on the system.
The Role
You will be the colour authority at our Condell Park depot, producing accurate colour matches, maintaining the mixing station and supporting trade customers so they get a precise result first time, every time. The role blends hands-on mixing with customer-facing technical support and is central to growing Lightint adoption across our accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, mix and match automotive refinish colours using the system, tinters and mixing software
- Operate a spectrophotometer and colour retrieval software to locate, read and adjust formulas
- Fine-tune and correct formulas by eye and by reading, including for faded, blended and hard-to-match colours
- Prepare and dispense accurate tinted product for trade customers and orders
- Maintain the mixing room: tinter stock levels, scale calibration, cleanliness and safe handling of products
- Build and maintain a local formula and variant library for repeat colours
- Train and onboard collision repair customers onto the Perfecoat mixing system and support them through their first matches
- Provide product and process support across the Perfecoat range (primers, surfacers, basecoat and clear)
- Troubleshoot colour, application and matching issues for customers, in person and over the phone
- Support demonstrations, trade days and new account setups as needed
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a colour matcher, paint mixer or refinish technician in automotive refinish or collision repair
- Strong working knowledge of 2K refinish systems, tinters and mixing scales
- Confident using spectrophotometers and colour retrieval software
- Sound understanding of the full refinish process and how undercoats affect final colour
- Excellent colour vision and a meticulous eye for detail (the role requires accurate colour perception)
- Good communication skills and a customer-first approach
- Reliable, organised and able to manage your own bench and workflow
Desirable
- Trade qualification in automotive refinishing or spray painting
- Familiarity with multiple refinish brands and systems
- Current driver's licence
- Experience training or supporting trade customers

Pay: $30.00 – $60.00 per hour
