We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead and drive the performance of our Western Australian Spray Seal business.
Reporting to the Regional Manager – WA, this role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring we achieve our safety, quality, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance objectives. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing resources, managing bitumen logistics, developing operational capability, and driving sustainable growth across our WA markets.
You will be accountable for operational performance, resource optimization, workforce capability, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations to achieve safety, quality, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance targets.

Ensure all work is undertaken in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and COLAS standards relating to safety, environment, and quality.

Oversee the efficient allocation and utilization of people, plant, equipment, and bitumen logistics to maximize operational performance.

Support and manage the Operations team to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking against business objectives.

Ensure efficient procurement and management of the supply chain to support strong project execution and budget performance.

Review and assess the WA spray seal market, identifying opportunities to optimise resource utilisation and strengthen COLAS's market position in both the short and long term.

Work closely with the BDM to build and maintain strong operational relationships with key clients and stakeholders, including Main Roads WA, mining companies, contractors, suppliers, consultants, airports, and local government authorities.

Work with the Regional Manager – WA to develop and grow the Bitumen Supply business into a profitable business unit.

Monitor and manage remedial works, ensuring issues are accurately captured, reported, and addressed in line with company requirements and performance targets.

Provide visible leadership that promotes an engaged, high-performing, and accountable workforce.

Work alongside the Senior Supervisor to identify, develop, and retain key talent within the business.

Support workforce capability planning through the maintenance of skills and training matrices in collaboration with leadership teams.

Drive ownership and accountability across the WA Spray Seal team for safety performance, operational excellence, and achievement of both short and long-term business goals.
