About the role:
As Senior Elec, you will spearhead the delivery of innovative, high-integrity high-voltage and medium-voltage solutions—helping drive Australia’s energy transformation and supporting a future-ready national grid.
This role involves providing technical expertise, overseeing complex design and construct projects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in power system design, analysis, and implementation.
About you:
Qualifications & Skills – You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 7+ years of experience in designing and managing primary electrical systems.
- Experience working on energy projects with Australian distribution and transmission network operators, the network regulator and government entities.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (Preferably)
- Expertise in high-voltage and medium-voltage power system design and analysis
- Familiar with power system modelling tools such as DigSilent PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EMTP-RV, CymCap, ELEK, or similar software
- Working Experience in using PSCAD, PSS/E
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, and NEC
- Strong knowledge of Australian Electrical Design Standards, such as AS 2067 (Substations and High Voltage Installations), AS/NZS 7000 (Overhead Line Design), and AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with renewable energy systems and grid integration
- Knowledge of digital substations and automation technologies
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and protective relaying
- Experience in managing large-scale engineering projects
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office-based with occasional site visits
- Flexible working options.
- Travel may be required to project sites and client locations
- Ability to work in high-voltage environments with appropriate safety precautions.
