We are hiring a Food Safety Officer to join our Smith's Snackfood team in Tingalpa. You will support the Food Safety Coordinator in maintaining food safety, compliance and sanitation standards across the site, including Pest and Environmental Monitoring (PEM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and AIB International Audit preparation. Ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures are understood and correctly executed across the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct food safety inspections, audits and compliance checks.

Manage pest control activities, including rodent monitoring, cockroach inspections, Rentokil support and fogging notifications.

Coordinate Pest and Environmental Monitoring Program (PEMP) activities, including environmental monitoring and swabbing.

Manage sanitation programs, periodic cleaning schedules and reporting.

Complete daily quality checks, including TOMRA reviews, packaging checks, COA reviews and SAP entries.

Maintain food safety records, audit documentation and employee training, while supporting allergen validation, foreign object investigations and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a food manufacturing environment

Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance or a related field is desirable

Knowledge of food processing and packaging equipment

Sound knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and GMP

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

Strong interpersonal, communication and report-writing skills

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Good PC and data entry skills
