What you'll be doing
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where every day brings something different. From supporting clients and assisting with our busy surgical and desexing caseload, to triaging trauma patients and caring for vulnerable shelter animals, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of cases. You'll also assist with medical investigations while working alongside an experienced team committed to helping people and animals.
As a Veterinary Nurse, you'll play an essential role in the delivery of high-quality veterinary care, including:

Hospital in-patient care and treatment, including placing IVCs and venipuncture

Emergency management including triage and assessment of incoming animals

Client care including providing support and education as a Consult Nurse, as well as working at reception on a rotating basis

Surgical nursing (including orthopaedics and dentistry)

Anaesthetic preparation and monitoring

Diagnostics including pathology and imaging

Maintaining wards and hospital environment including cleaning and sterilisation of surgical equipment to ensure high standards of patient care, hygiene and infection control

Providing enrichment to hospitalised patients and monitoring patient wellbeing
We're looking for someone who:

Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology with previous experience in a veterinary nursing role

Genuinely cares about people and working together to address barriers they may face in accessing veterinary care for their pets

Thrives in a busy environment (experience in an emergency setting would be well-regarded)

Is adaptable, resilient and eager to learn

Works well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Communicates professionally and compassionately

Brings positive energy, initiative and a solutions-focused mindset

Has a current Class C Driver’s License
