We are currently seeking an experienced Oral Health Therapist to join our Dental Team at Access Health & Community. You will have the ability to provide high quality efficient and effective dental services to eligible clients (For eligibility criteria please click on link https://www.dhsv.org.au/patient-information/who-is-eligible) within the scope of publically funded dental services, in accordance with Access Health & Community policies and procedures.
This is a Parental leave Max term 12-month Contract based in Access Health and Community Ashburton Dental Clinic
Contract: 30/6/2026 - 30/6/2027
Work days: Tuesday & Friday (16 hours per week)
About the role
As an experienced Oral Health Therapist, you will have a high level of experience knowledge and skills in undertaking clinical duties, with the ability to independently undertake clinical duties. You would be part of a multidisciplinary dental team comprising of dentists, dental therapists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, oral health educators and dental assistants. Our Aim is to improving access to services and the oral health of the community we serve.

What you will be doing Key Responsibilities
-
Provide dental care in accordance with Access Health & Community and Oral Health Victoria (OHV) policies and clinical guidelines, within the scope of public dental services and the dental board of Victoria

Deliver high quality, efficient & effective dental care

Provide best practice dentistry to all clients
-
Adopt a multidisciplinary team approach in the delivery of care

Ability to work in a consultative manner with AccessHC dentists, dental/oral health therapists and prosthetists

Where appropriate, refer complex treatment plans and ensure appropriate referrals to more experienced practitioners or specialists

Provide clinical support and direction to less experienced staff
-
Adhere to AccessHC OH&S, Infection Control and Record Keeping Standards
What you will bring Key Selection Criteria
-
AHPRA registration as an Oral Health Therapist
-
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience with at least 12 months within Australia
-
Demonstrated knowledge of preventative and operative dentistry
-
Confident & capable in all aspects of general dentistry relevant to OHT scope of practice
-
Exceptional customer service and client management skills
-
Collaborative approach in working with internal team members and with external stakeholder
Desirable:
-
Self-driven in their work and will seek support as needed

Experience in oral health promotion, outreach activities and Smile Squad
-
Experience in community dental and/or private practice
-
Familiarity with electronic patient management system Titanium/Exact
-
Experience in oral health promotion and outreach activities
Compliance Requirements

National Police Check, Working with Children Check, Current AHPRA Professional Registration

Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Driver’s Licence.
