Maintenance & Grounds Officer Retirement Living
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance & Grounds Officer who is committed to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facility through proactive maintenance and repair work.
Location: Tabeel Retirement Living - Laidley QLD
Employment Type: Part-time (approx 45 hrs/fortnight)
Remuneration: $29.45 - $31.11/hour
About The Role:
In this hands-on role, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations of maintaining gardens, grounds and maintenance, ensuring everything is safe, tidy, and well-kept. You will take pride in creating attractive, well-maintained surrounds that provide a welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff. This role also utilises a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) arrangement.
Key responsibilities include:
- General maintenance and upkeep of lawns, gardens, and common areas.
- Maintaining outdoor areas to a high standard of presentation and safety.
- Identifying and reporting new risks while working to minimise existing ones.
- Preforming scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs as required.
- Coordinating external contractors and assisting with minor site improvement projects as required
- Using equipment and materials safely and responsibly
- Your work will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Gardening experience is essential
About You:
- Experience in groundskeeping within an aged care setting or a similar environment.(highly desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow safety procedures and preventative maintenance schedules
- A team player with a proactive attitude, proven ability to demonstrate a customer service focus.
- Valid Police Check or NDIS clearance and Queensland Driver’s Licence
