Join a warm and welcoming preschool community at Palm Grove Preschool. We're looking for an organised, friendly Administration Officer to join our team for 4 hours per week, with flexibility to choose the days and times that suit you, plus additional hours available during peak periods such as enrolment time and the start and end of term. You'll be part of a close-knit team, working alongside our dedicated educators, a supportive volunteer Committee of Management, and our offsite bookkeeper, playing an important role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes at a preschool with real heart and history. Weekly onsite presence is required, along with attendance at monthly staff and Committee meetings. Palm Grove Preschool is a stand-alone service governed by a volunteer Committee of Management, supported by a team of highly skilled and dedicated staff, offering a sessional four-year-old preschool program (15 hours) and a sessional three-year-old preschool program (10 hours), with a strong focus on delivering innovative, inspiring programs for children in a stimulating and safe environment. We are a child safe organisation, and the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is at the heart of everything we do. This role is paid under the Children's Services Award, with pay above award rates.
This is a vital administrative role supporting the Committee of Management and staff team in the smooth and efficient running of our early childhood service. Roles include:
- ensuring that the service meets its obligations under all relevant legislation, including the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 , the National Regulations , and the Kindergarten Funding Guide .
- a wide range of administrative tasks and will be a key point of contact for families, staff, and external organisations
- supporting the Educational Leader and Committee with day-to-day administrative duties
Liaising with external bodies such as the Department of Education, ELAA, and local government as directed
Maintaining accurate service records, including enrolment and yearly compliance documentation
Assisting our enrolment officer
Attending monthly committee meetings onsite
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a community-focused environment, values teamwork, and takes pride in supporting the delivery of high-quality early education through strong administration.
Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Google drive. You will hold a valid Working with children check and a valid mandatory reporting certificate.
