Disability Support Worker – Carrum, VIC
Location: Carrum, VIC
Shifts Available: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
Hours: Long shifts with ongoing roster
South Melbourne Care Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide community-based support to a non-verbal client in the Carrum area.
About the Role
This role involves supporting the client with community access, shopping, social engagement, and daily activities while promoting independence and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be patient, engaging, and confident in building a positive rapport with a non-verbal client.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the client with community outings and shopping
- Encouraging social interaction and community participation
- Providing person-centred support in line with the client's goals and needs
- Following care plans and organisational policies
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress notes
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Previous experience in disability support preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
