FAMILY WORKER – 2 POSITIONS
1/ Wingecarribee LGA – Full time – 35 hours/week – office located in Bowral
2/ Goulburn/Mulwaree LGA – Part time - 17.5 hours/week – office located in Goulburn
Home-Start Family Workers aim to improve the outcomes and wellbeing of families with children 0-8 years. Home-Start works from a family centred and strengths-based approach that promotes self-determination and the confidence to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
Our Family Workers provide home or centre-based support to assist families to build on their:
- Parenting and life skills
- Understanding of child development
- Informal and formal support networks
- Knowledge and access to relevant services
Wingecarribee Family Worker also facilitates a regular Supported Playgroup.
We are looking for people who have:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare, Health or allied areas relevant to this position. (Diploma as minimum requirement)
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and administration skills
- High level computer skills
- Demonstrated experience in supporting vulnerable families
- Demonstrated community sector experience
- Demonstrated experience in preparing workplace documents, reports, and data collection
- Knowledge and experience in the facilitation of evidence-based parenting programs
- Current NSW driver’s license and is medically fit to drive
These roles are funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
