We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemical Plant Operator/Paint Maker to join our production team.
Job Responsibilities:
Production & Operations
- Blend and Mill: Accurately measure, mix, blend, and mill raw materials, pigments, and additives to produce high-quality paints and coatings according to Batch Sheets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain paint manufacturing equipment, including mixers and dispersers.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor the production process to ensure consistency in colour, viscosity, and performance. Assist with troubleshooting production issues and make adjustments as needed to meet daily targets.
- Batch Tracking: Ensure each stage of manufacture is identified and initialed upon satisfactory completion. Clearly identify and display the product test status at all times.
- Record Keeping: Maintain highly accurate records of production stages, batch formulations, and material usage.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Safety First: Strictly follow all health, safety, and hazard instructions. Maintain a safe, neat, and organized workspace at all times. Safely handle chemical materials in compliance with all regulations.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization and pitch improvement suggestions to the Production and Technical Managers prior to implementation.
- Team Development: Engage in ongoing training to improve knowledge and skill levels.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in paint manufacturing, chemical processing, or a similar production environment is highly preferred. (Note: We are willing to provide full training to the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive attitude).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with paint formulations, raw materials, and mixing techniques is a distinct advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions with absolute accuracy.
- Skills: Basic math skills, proficiency with measurement tools, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Physical Fitness: Physical stamina with the ability to safely lift heavy materials.
- Licensing: A valid and current Forklift License is required.
