About the opportunity
For graduate and newly qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologists to deliver base level nuclear medicine services including education as a member of a multidisciplinary team to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. Provide education to staff, patients, and the public regarding the clinical and safety considerations specific to Nuclear Medicine services and provide a patient focus to the performance of duties.
Please note: There are both a permanent full-time and temporary full-time and part-time positions available (up to 12 months).
Medical Imaging Department
Medical Imaging provides a service and access to all imaging modalities 24/7. High quality patient outcomes remain the primary focus of services, this aim is supported by close and responsive links to clinical areas. Key staff members are actively involved in HHS and Regional service planning. This service is a critical element of the THHS Tertiary level service capability and to support surrounding health facilities and Northern Area Health Services.
The Imaging Service provides key diagnostic and interventional services to support front line critical care areas and clinical units. MID Staff assist and consult with neighbouring health facilities to improve levels of service integration and clinical outcomes.
The service is integrated around specific Modalities /sections managing specific service delivery elements. Medical Imaging services operate in compliance with the Radiation Safety Protection Plan - THHS & Radiation Safety Act.
The Services operates in a Digital environment and is linked to other QH facilities. Work is under way for the integration of imaging systems with other health information systems.
Role requirements
The successful applicant must possess:
Tertiary qualification applicable to Nuclear Medicine
Current Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
Radiation Use Licence issued by Queensland Health - Radiation Health.
Desirable - evidence of professional development activities.
The successful candidate to this position may be expected to participate in shift work as well as work on public holidays and availability for on-call. The position may have roster allocation to any facility in the THHS

Salary range: $3030.00-$4453.50 p.f. / $39.86-$58.59 p.h.(HP3)
