D & J Estate Pty Ltd is an established South Australian agricultural operations services business providing contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural services to commercial growers and agricultural enterprises across South Australia.
Since 2015, D & J Estate has undertaken agricultural operations under commercial service agreements with its clients, including vineyard and orchard maintenance, pruning, canopy management, crop cultivation and maintenance, harvesting and related production services.
D & J Estate plans, coordinates, supervises and delivers these services through its own management and supervisory structure and directly employed workforce.

The Role
D & J Estate is seeking an experienced Vineyard Supervisor to supervise and coordinate day-to-day vineyard operations across multiple contracted work sites throughout South Australia.
Reporting to the Vineyard Manager (Operations), the Vineyard Supervisor will lead vineyard workers, allocate daily duties, monitor work quality and productivity, and ensure vineyard activities are completed safely and in accordance with operational work programs, seasonal requirements and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day vineyard operations across assigned work sites.
- Allocate duties and provide direction to vineyard workers in accordance with operational work programs and seasonal requirements.
- Supervise vineyard activities including pruning, canopy management, vine training, crop maintenance, harvesting and related vineyard operations.
- Monitor work quality, productivity and progress against operational requirements and schedules.
- Provide practical guidance and instruction to vineyard workers on work methods, quality requirements and safe work practices.
- Monitor vineyard conditions and report crop, irrigation, pest, disease or operational issues requiring management or specialist attention.
- Coordinate tools, equipment and materials required for vineyard operations.
- Maintain site records and report on work progress, workforce activities, productivity and operational issues.
- Assist with implementing technical recommendations provided by the Agricultural Consultant and operational directions from the Vineyard Manager (Operations).
- Liaise with management and other supervisors regarding work programs, site requirements and operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures, quality standards and client site requirements.
- Support the induction, training and ongoing supervision of vineyard workers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in vineyard work practices, productivity, service quality and operational efficiency.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- A relevant AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agriculture or a related field; alternatively, relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification where appropriate.
- Relevant experience in vineyard, viticultural, horticultural or agricultural operations.
- Practical knowledge of vineyard operations, including pruning, canopy management, vine training, crop maintenance and harvesting.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise workers and coordinate day-to-day vineyard activities.
- Ability to monitor work quality, productivity and compliance with operational requirements.
- Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe agricultural work practices.
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work across multiple operational sites throughout South Australia.
- A current valid Australian driver's licence is required due to regular travel between operational sites.
Employment Conditions
- Permanent full-time employment with D & J Estate Pty Ltd.
- Salary: AUD $75,000–$85,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
- Employment entitlements provided in accordance with applicable Australian workplace laws and the National Employment Standards.
- The position requires travel to and work across multiple contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural sites throughout South Australia.
