We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Restaurant Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, maintaining high food quality standards, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, breads, rice dishes, and appetizers.
- Develop and maintain consistent recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with management on menu planning and seasonal specials.
- Ensure customer dietary requirements and food allergies are accommodated where possible.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a chef in an Indian restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of traditional and regional Indian cuisine.
- Experience with tandoor cooking is an advantage.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Experience managing kitchen operations and staff.
- Passion for creating high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine.

Pay: $56,828.24 – $86,003.92 per year
