Medical Receptionist – Casual Position
St Marys Skin Cancer Clinic – St Marys, NSW
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our small team in St Marys.
This is a casual position with regular shifts on the following days, as well as sick and annual leave cover when required:
- Monday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Tuesday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
- Wednesday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
- Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
Our clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to the advertised hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and transfer incoming phone calls
- Make recall and reminder phone calls and manage the reminder system
- Book and manage patient appointments
- Maintain the appointment diary
- Update and maintain patient records
- Take accurate notes in patient records
- Maintain and process pathology results
- Process Medicare Online claims and billing
- Copy, scan, shred and file important documents
- Maintain a clean and tidy reception and waiting room
- General reception and administrative duties as required
Qualities We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will:
- Have previous medical reception experience – this is essential
- Have experience using Best Practice Software – this is essential
- Have experience with Medicare Online Billing/Claiming
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be flexible and willing to assist where required
- Be detail-oriented with excellent attention to detail
- Be able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Be friendly, professional and approachable
- Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn
- Have confident computer skills
- Have excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Have experience with typing, appointment bookings and managing patient records
- Be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and Gmail
