About the Role:
The Practicum Program Coordinator will oversee the Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry Practicum Program to ensure students are provided with high-quality practicum learning experiences that align with priorities identified by key stakeholders, including professional and industry partners.
This position provides bespoke fieldwork and placement support across multiple disciplines with a focus on Library, Archives, Records and Information Science.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identify suitable practicum sites and negotiate fieldwork agreements across Australia and offshore.
- Assess students’ capabilities in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practicum Program and select students for relevant placements.
- Review fieldwork risk assessments, travel requests and ensure mitigation of risk.
- Monitor the provision of high-quality and safe professional practice at the practicum sites
- Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build continuing placement opportunities.
- Conduct site visits in person or online and evaluate the effectiveness of the Practicum Program through the collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports as required.
- Provide support to students and providers in preparation for placement and while on-site to ensure a positive experience.
- Lead the development of written and online resources required to enhance the student practicum experience and the understanding and participation of professional partners.
- Identify, develop, implement and review policies and procedures as part of continuous quality service improvement of the Practicum Program.
- Promote the Practicum Program to industry and students through a range of communication methods including presentations and correspondence.

- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience in project and program management, with a strong track record of achieving agreed-upon outcomes while pursuing continuous growth and improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise and negotiate with various stakeholders professionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including skills in report writing and delivering presentations.
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving capabilities, with a history of developing strategies to negotiate agreements and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Proficient in IT, with strong skills in internet use and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SONIA and other relevant fieldwork placement platforms.
- A background in the education sector is highly desirable, though not essential.

- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
