The opportunity on offer
As a Junior Contract Administrator at Texco, you will play a key role in driving project success by ensuring the seamless execution of contracts, efficient management of resources, and optimal financial and commercial outcomes.
This is a fast-paced and dynamic role where you will collaborate closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. You will oversee all aspects of procurement, contract negotiations, progress claims, forecasting, and budget control. From procurement through to project completion, you will be responsible for managing contracts, tracking project variations, monitoring cost control, and delivering accurate financial forecasts to ensure the successful and on-time delivery of each project
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Procurement Schedule, ensuring all procurement activities are effectively tracked, planned, and reported;
- Present proposed tenders to the management team for review and approval;
- Conduct detailed tender comparisons to ensure optimal selection.
- Implement and maintain the electronic document management system (e.g., Aconex, Procore);
- Oversee forecasting and budget control, including maintaining an accurate variation register, providing clear and concise forecast reports, and ensuring financial data is updated in Jobpac;
- Prepare progress claims in accordance with contract timelines;
- Manage the lodging, approval, and payment of progress claims and variations;
- Attend project and design meetings, reviewing proposed designs for potential commercial implications;
- Liaise with Design Consultants and respond to RFIs to ensure smooth project progression;
- Support the Project Manager in conducting post-project reviews, focusing on design performance, subcontractor performance, team efficiency, and client management.
A bit about you
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or commercial management within the construction industry, preferably in the industrial sector;
- Hands-on experience in subcontractor and head contract administration, including managing progress claims, variations, forecasting, and procurement;
- Proficiency in contract and financial management systems such as ProcurePro, Jobpac, Aconex, Procore, Visibuild, or similar platforms;
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, contract law, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- High attention to detail, ensuring all project requirements are met to the highest standard;
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Salary range between $80,000 - $90,000 inclusive of super.
