The equipment that keeps Australia's mines running, its agricultural machinery in the field, and its transport fleet moving - it runs on hydraulics. Questas Group supports the specialist engineering businesses that design, build, and service these systems. We're looking for a mechanical engineering student to join us at our Berendsen Fluid Power Richlands site and learn the industry from the inside out.
This is a placement with direction. You'll be working toward a Sales Engineer role when you graduate, sitting at the intersection of deep technical knowledge and real customer relationships. It's one of the most varied and commercially impactful careers in engineering, and we will help develop you to get there.
What you'll actually be doing
No fluid power background needed, we'll teach you everything. What you won't be doing is watching from the sidelines:
- Working on live customer jobs alongside senior engineers, from scoping the problem to delivering the solution
- Getting out to customer sites to troubleshoot issues and present findings
- Building quotes and technical proposals for hydraulic systems and components
- Getting hands-on with leading brands like Danfoss and Pall (cylinders, power units, hose assemblies, and more)
- Understanding how engineering decisions translate into commercial outcomes
- Contributing to a team where your work counts from day one
What we're looking for
- Mechanical engineering student in your 3rd or 4th year, looking for a placement that actually means something
- Someone who wants to talk to customers and solve problems in the field, not just model things in CAD
- Sharp analytical instincts and the communication skills to back them up
- Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of your placement
Where this takes you
