As we continue to expand, we are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Victoria. You will bring specialist engineering capabilities to provide technical support and advice to the Manager on manufacturing activities and act as an interface with the production team.
About the role:
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will support daily operations by preparing technical documentation, coordinating maintenance activities, managing data and records, and assisting with engineering assessments. The position requires a balance of hands‑on technical understanding and strong administrative discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develope customised vehicle accessories and mechanical products, including ute trays, canopies, service bodies, and toolboxes, using SolidWorks to produce engineering drawings, 3D models, technical specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).Optimising spare parts requirements;
- Manage the utilise of workforce, analysing worker’s tasks and time consumed, maximise the workforce efficiency as well as complete the nominated tasks on time.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including manufacturing drawings, material specifications, BOMs, fabrication instructions, and design revisions to support production and quality requirements.
- Conduct engineering analysis of product designs, materials, structural components, load requirements, and manufacturing processes to ensure product performance, safety, durability, and compliance with project specifications.
- Perform design verification, testing, and technical assessments to evaluate product functionality, structural integrity, fitment, and manufacturability, and implemented design improvements where required.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and production teams to determine project requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure engineering solutions met operational and manufacturing objectives.
- Investigate and resolve technical, fabrication, and assembly issues by analysing root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Conduct product inspections, fitment assessments, and quality reviews to verify compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical procedures, and quality control processes to support consistent manufacturing outcomes and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives by analysing production performance, customer feedback, and product reliability data to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Key requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Co-operative Team worker is a must
- English and Mandarin bilingual language skills preferred
