About Powerhouse Parramatta
Powerhouse Parramatta is Western Sydney’s first state cultural institutions and one of the world's most significant new museum projects. Opening in late 2026 with an anticipated annual visitation of over 2 million, the Powerhouse will open with 5 international exhibitions that reflect the ambition of the museum across the applied arts and sciences, culture, industry and innovation. The program has been developed in collaboration with the communities of Western Sydney, and local and international collaborators.
About the role
The NSW Government Apprentices and Trainees Recruitment team, on behalf of Powerhouse Parramatta, is seeking energetic, friendly, and confident individuals to join the Visitor Host team as Trainee Visitor Hosts.
In this role, you will help deliver a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone who visits Powerhouse while developing valuable workplace skills through structured on-the-job training and completing a Certificate III in Tourism for up to 24 months. Working under the guidance of Visitor Hosts and Senior Visitor Hosts, you will engage with visitors, share information, support exhibitions and events, and ensure every visitor has a positive and engaging experience as well as attending TAFE NSW.
This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on operational requirements and programming. If you enjoy working with people and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
