The ATSICHS Family Wellbeing Services (FWS) program provides a coordinated and culturally safe support system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families experiencing vulnerability. By offering a comprehensive mix of services tailored to family and community needs, we aim to build family capacity, strengthen community connections, and safeguard the wellbeing of children. At ATSICHS, through holistic case management, and collaboration with multiple service providers, FWS empowers families to navigate challenges, develop essential life skills, and access therapeutic support. The program also engages with families involved in the child protection system, working to address safety concerns, facilitate reunification, and support positive outcomes for children and their families.
The Family Wellbeing Manager role is a front line-management role, part of the Community Services leadership team. As a Manager at ATSICHS, we believe in leading teams through showing and doing, not delegating and micro-managing. We utilise a coaching approach to management that supports staff to achieve excellence with clients through side-by-side in-field mentoring and coaching, growing staff practice skills, professionalism, stakeholder influencing, and personal organisation. As a leadership team, and front-line Manager, we are focused on client impact above anything else. Client impact in a manger role means we utilise data in a safe and supportive way to identify team case management quality, engage clients across the service to ensure our follow-through and client satisfaction, and proactively harness client feedback to make improvements as s team.
Duties
- Diligent tracking of intake waitlist, ensuring contact with clients around expected service timeframe and awareness of referral. Develop referral pathways across sector through strong interagency partnerships to maintain annual service target of clients.
- Assertively support staff with low initial engagement to consent achievement rates aiming for an 80% program success rate.
- Lead the direct intervening on high-risk acute cases where life is threatened or irreputable organisational brand damage could occur. Problem solve immediate client crisis, based upon high-level theoretical knowledge and risk management decision making.
- Ensure al staff complete the 'Worker Safety Assessment' prior, and directly after, first home visit, ensuring a safe working environment culture is developed in team.
- Ensure staff facilitate FLDM meetings with broader family kin, gaining family consensus on their challenges and path forward.
- Lead the coaching of staff to consistently implement client empowerment interventions between key worker and clients. Utilise the Coaching App to record all staff.
- Lead the annual financial program planning and tracking operational expenditure throughout the year. Forward project underspends and overspends, ensuring break event target is met each quarter.
- Lead the delivery of client feedback and brief wellbeing measurement tools (Session Rating Scale and Outcome Rating Scale) to be utilised by staff upon every face-to-face interaction. Disseminate staff uptake and scoring data, building a practice culture of responsive client improvement.

Skills and Experiences:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant social services field with at least 4 years case management experience in family support, child protection, youth support, housing or related field.
OR
- Diploma in relevant Community/Services field with at least 6 years in a case management role in family support, child protection, youth support, housing or related field.
AND
- Demonstrated ability to apply and critique child safety and social work theoretical frameworks of practice, implementing client interventions based upon scaffolding client self-awareness, agency, and empowered sustainable behaviours change interventions.
- Ability to critique and problem solve related legislative gray zones, while managing organisational and child harm risks. Demonstrated ability to integrate knowledge across different business units, ensuring the fair treatment and voices of family's are promoted, while managing child harm risks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in large team management, including directing staff workflow and client quality, leading and integrating corporate business functions across team. Forward plan operational constraints, team culture, and forecasting 18-month operational change priorities.
- Ability to support staff in applying sound social service and child protection practice reasonings to influence stakeholders (Child Safety, Schools, Hospitals etc.). Motivate a strong team working culture and sustain behaviour change by influencing others.
- Demonstrated ability to connect numerous internal ATSICHS programs and services to activate wrap-around care families, trading-off and negotiating resources across the organisation and between other teams achieve client impact.
- Problem solve general operational policies with autonomous decision making to enact client impact, adhering to client risk, safety, and quality standards.
