GoGet is fundamentally good for individuals, business and society as a whole. We have only just scratched the surface of the opportunity in Australia. We empower smarter lifestyles and create liveable communities.
Our focus is on carshare: wheels for whatever, round the corner, by the hour. Individuals and businesses can free themselves from the costs and inconvenience of car ownership while also generating a proven environmental benefit by taking 10 cars off the road for every GoGet.
Founded by Nic and Bruce in 2003, GoGet has grown rapidly to be a highly innovative, disruptive success story. We are integrated into the communities we serve and are incredibly proud of the positive impact we have.
We are building our fleet in Canberra, and this is our first local role. You will look after the whole Canberra fleet: keeping our vehicles clean and presentable, making sure they are safe and roadworthy, and getting them back where they need to be, ready for members to use. You will work across the local network on your own, picking up jobs from an app and organising your own run, with training and day-to-day support from our Sydney based team.
This is a permanent part-time role of around 24 hours per week. We need some of your hours on Mondays and Fridays, our busiest days. Beyond that we’re flexible. Three full days works, and so does four or five shorter ones if that fits better around school hours or other commitments. We’ll agree a regular weekly pattern with you and stick to it. Weekend work is not expected, but long weekends are busy, so we’ll ask you to work some public holidays with plenty of notice and penalty rates.
You’ll get five days of paid training in Sydney in late September or early October, with flights and accommodation covered. The Canberra fleet is set to grow, so there’s potential for more hours down the track. If you want to get in at the start of something and grow with it, this is the job for you.
- Clean and detail our vehicles inside and out, keeping presentation to a high standard including correct livery and in-car collateral
- Check vehicles are safe and ready for members, including brakes, dashboard warning lights, batteries, oil and coolant levels, tyre pressure, tread and damage
- Test, troubleshoot and change batteries, tyres and security unit equipment, and carry out simple maintenance tasks
- Move and relocate vehicles across Canberra, including collecting vehicles that members have left in the wrong spot
- Photograph and report damage, assess vehicles for roadworthiness, and flag anything that needs a mechanic
- Keep vehicles stocked with smartcards and consumables
- Work from our online dispatch system on a GoGet tablet, manage your own run efficiently, and follow all Safe Work instructions and GoGet policies
- Current Australian driver's licence and good driving history, and confident driving a van including parking and manoeuvring in tight spots
- Based in Canberra or the immediately surrounding area
- Available for some hours on both Mondays and Fridays, willing to work some public holidays, and happy to settle into a regular weekly pattern
- Able to attend five days of training in Sydney in late September or early October. We can be a bit flexible on the dates for the right person
- Hands-on and practical with experience doing basic vehicle maintenance
- Comfortable working on your own with minimal supervision, organising your own day, and using an app on a tablet
- Real attention to detail, and physically able to work outdoors in all weather including regular bending and lifting
This role suits someone already working in detailing, vehicle rental, a service centre or a trade who wants regular part-time hours, or anyone after reliable ongoing work that fits around other commitments.
- $32.48 per hour plus superannuation, above the Award, with penalty rates for public holidays and any evening or weekend work
- Permanent part-time, with a regular weekly pattern we agree with you and stick to
- A GoGet van to do the job in, so no need to use your own vehicle, plus all tools, equipment, uniform, PPE and a tablet provided
- Paid training: five days in Sydney with our experienced crew, flights and accommodation covered, plus employer funded first aid and defensive driving training
- Genuine autonomy, you run your own day
- First GoGet crew member in Canberra, with more hours as the fleet grows, and a generous employee discount on GoGet use
