The Pilates Nook is an inclusive, welcoming studio dedicated to providing a nurturing space for clients at any stage of their movement journey. We are a team of highly qualified professionals who deliver the core principles of Pilates with an authentic, down-to-earth approach. As a host studio for Polestar Pilates and a center of education excellence, we prioritise ongoing professional development.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pilates teacher to join our community-centric team. If you believe in "movement that nourishes, not punishes," we would love to meet you.
The Role
In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, Pilates and movement-based instruction across our range of services, including small group classes and personalised private and duet sessions. You will work closely with clients to achieve their unique goals.
Key Responsibilities
Group Instruction: Plan and lead small group classes (maximum 6 clients) across Mat, Tower, and Reformer, adhering to Nook sequencing.
Duet & Private Sessions: Expertly manage Duet sessions, often programming for two different bodies and goals simultaneously.
Clinical Programming: Apply deep knowledge of pathologies and injuries to provide modifications and tailored exercises.
Client Empowerment: Encourage client autonomy
Communication: Utilise positive, inquiry-based cueing to foster mind-body connection and self-correcting movement patterns.
Studio Operations: Minimal administration duties, may involve standard opening/closing procedures. Detailed client notes via Booking Essentials.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certification: Fully Diploma qualified on all Pilates equipment (Mat, Reformer, Trapeze Table/Tower, Wunda Chair, and Ladder Barrel).
Experience: Proven track record in teaching Duet sessions and managing clients with complex pathologies or injuries.
Availability: Must be available for early morning shifts and Saturday sessions. Local to the Eastern Suburbs.
Vibe: A professional but warm demeanor that aligns with our values of being authentic, joyful, and community-centric.
Skills: Strong communication skills with a focus on teaching movement rather than just instructing repertoire.
Why Join Team Nook?
Community: Be part of a supportive team that values camaraderie and a "pilates first" but friendly atmosphere. Regular staff classes and social evenings.
Education: Access to ongoing professional development and mentoring.
Career progression: Opportunity for part-time role including studio administration and marketing.
