About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Female Disability Support Worker to provide individualised support to a young female client in the Rosmey area. The client attends school and requires assistance with daily living activities, community participation, and social engagement. This role focuses on promoting independence, building confidence, and supporting the client's overall wellbeing in a safe and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general household tasks, including light cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Support the client with meal planning and meal preparation to encourage healthy eating habits and independent living skills.
- Provide transportation and assistance to and from appointments, community activities, and other scheduled engagements.
- Accompany and support the client during shopping trips and community outings.
- Encourage social interaction and engagement through activities such as board games, recreational activities, and other interests identified by the client.
- Provide companionship and emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Assist with implementing goals outlined in the client's support plan.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and report any concerns or incidents as required.
- Work collaboratively with the client's family, support network, and service providers to ensure quality support outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Female applicant (due to client preference and support requirements).
- Experience working with people living with disabilities, preferably with young people or school-aged participants.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, respectful, and supportive relationships.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality support.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related field.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $37.00 – $46.05 per hour
