Customer Service Officer
- Location: Parramatta
- Employment type: Temporary full-time positions for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or ongoing employment
- Grade: 3/4
- Salary: $84,659 - 92,701 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality customer service within the business unit by providing advice and tailored solutions in line with agency policies and procedures. You will play a key part in supporting effective service delivery and achieving positive client outcomes.
You will assist in coordinating interpreting and translation services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, applying sound judgement and prioritising competing demands. A strong commitment to service quality, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to changing needs will be essential to your success.
What you’ll do
- Deliver accurate and timely interpreting and translation services with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and determine appropriate solutions within policy guidelines
- Resolve issues and record interactions within standard operating procedures
- Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the team leader as required
- Build and maintain effective relationships while providing support via phone, email, and other channels
- Complete operational and administrative tasks related to service delivery in an online environment
- Ensure high levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with procedures
- Collaborate with team members, contribute to discussions, and support continuous service improvement
- Provide administrative support to meet deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and legislative requirements
What we’re looking for
- Experience working in a customer service or contact centre environment
- Exposure to coordinating bookings for services, ideally in a high-volume environment
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use sound judgement
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of digital literacy and experience using online service systems
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- Understanding of culturally diverse communities
