Volt Edge is seeking a qualified Trainer and Assessor with strong hands-on experience in Solar Design & Installation and Solar Battery systems to join our QLD training team. This is a specialist Solar/Battery-focused role, with expertise in other electrical training areas (e.g. QTP, QBP and HV)
Location: Based at our Northgate office (Brisbane), with travel to our other locations (Sydney and Melbourne) required. Employment type: Full-time preferred; part-time, casual and contract applicants will also be considered..
The Role
As a Trainer and Assessor at Volt Edge, you'll deliver high-quality, industry-relevant training and assessment to students in Solar Design & Installation and Solar Battery systems, with the option to grow into related electrical disciplines (LV Testing to AS/NZS 3017, High Voltage, QTP, QBP and others) as your portfolio develops.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering training and assessment materials provided to you, adapting delivery to suit different learner needs
- Assessing student theory submissions via our LMS and providing clear, constructive feedback ahead of practical sessions
- Delivering hands-on, simulated work-experience training that builds real workplace-ready skills and confidence
Volt Edge delivers weekly training across: Solar Design & Installation, Solar Battery, LV Testing (AS/NZS 3017), High Voltage, Hazardous Areas (EEHA), Instrumentation (Cert III & IV), and Refrigeration (Cert II & III) and more.
About You
- Hands-on industry experience in Solar Design, Installation, and Electrical Contracting
- The ideal candidate will be able to teach at least Two (2) Solar & Battery, LVR Testing, QTP & QBP or other Volt Edge courses.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 / TAE40122) or a higher qualification in Adult & Vocational Education.
- Strong industry experience in Installing and Designing Solar and Electrical Contracting.
- Experience in delivering two or more courses offered by Volt Edge, with potential to expand your knowledge within the electrical industry.
- An engaging training persona with excellent communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in using a wide range of learning resources and Learning Management Systems (LMS) for assessing and tracking student progress.
- Advanced English communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback to help students improve their practical skills and employability.
- Willingness to travel state-wide and interstate.
