Help Haven Support Pty Ltd is looking for a caring, reliable and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to provide regular one-on-one support to a female participant in Adelaide.
This is a casual position offering approximately 20–30 hours per week, with regular and consistent shifts.
About the participant
The participant is a friendly woman living with the effects of an acquired brain injury (ABI), including mobility and communication difficulties.
She enjoys getting out into the community, attending appointments and therapy sessions, shopping, going for coffee and spending time with her family.
We are looking for someone patient, positive and reliable who can build a genuine relationship with her and support her independence.
Your role may include
- Supporting daily and morning routines
- Community access and social activities
- Transport to appointments and therapy sessions
- Shopping and errands
- Meal preparation
- Light domestic assistance and laundry
- Companionship and conversation
- Supporting mobility and independence
- Following established routines and support requirements
- Completing progress notes
- Communicating with the participant, her family and Help Haven Support
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Female
- Available for approximately 20–30 hours per week
- Caring, patient and easy-going
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently
- Confident supporting someone with communication difficulties
- Respectful of choice, dignity and independence
- Interested in building a consistent, long-term relationship with the participant
Experience with ABI, stroke, neurological disability, aphasia or communication difficulties would be highly regarded.
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- Appropriate working rights in Australia
Previous disability support experience is preferred.
